The marina takes on a different persona when the sun stays low and the cold winds start to blow. I went to check on “Moments in Time” during the winter solstice. The boats on the hard were whistling in the wind, the sounds of laughter and tinking of drinks from the pool area had long departed, droning of harbor traffic remained eerily silent, and the lapping of waves had become more pronounced. Exiting the Narrows of Strangford Lough and crossing the Bar mouth to head out into the Irish Sea is always exciting when you have wind verse tide. The passage was out in this years Ardglass Race hosted by East Down Yacht Club was no different. J109 GTR powered through the biggest seas which were breaking over the deck at there steepest point. Today we moved the anchor winch! The winch was still sitting on the part of the deck that needs replacing, so we had to unbolt it and move it to the side to pull up the last bit of rotten wood and keep going with the prep for the new deck, this is the never ending storm, my god :) @yvonnemarianna.travels
