The marina takes on a different persona when the sun stays low and the cold winds start to blow. I went to check on “Moments in Time” during the winter solstice. The boats on the hard were whistling in the wind, the sounds of laughter and tinking of drinks from the pool area had long departed, droning of harbor traffic remained eerily silent, and the lapping of waves had become more pronounced. Instead of antifouling, we polish our prop to keep it clean and efficient. The process? Scrape off barnacles Dissolve calcium buildup with acid Polish with progressively finer compounds for a smooth finish ✨ Finally, we grease the prop, add a fresh zinc anode, and apply a final coat of Brasso before launch! Note, that this depends on the condition of your propeller. If it’s really fouled or previously painted, you might need a more thorough process - like we did last year.
