BBC Earth has asked me to participate in their Real Happiness Project. The aim of the project is to inspire people to enjoy nature because a study has shown that being exposed to nature, even if it is just virtually, makes people happy. We take the tension out of the Windlass for 3 main reasons. 1. To protect the windlass from the constant pressure to the bearings 2. To secure that the chain will not slip out because of to much tension 3. To avoid having annoying metallic noises during the night sleep For that reason we use the bridal and the stabber as I show you on that video
