Marpol Annex 2 concerning noxious liquid substances carried in bulk, entered into force in April 1987. It establishes rules for the carriage and discharge of harmful liquid substances, including the classification of substances and requirements for their transportation.

In the last weeks, our team put six bilge stringers to add strength and stiffness to the hull. For each one, we follow the same procedure: The first step is to create a template and transfer it to the carefully selected piece of oak, which we shape into form with circular saws, planers and sanders. Then our team uses a mix of linseed oil, tar and chalk to seal the gaps between the bilge stringer and frames.
