Just another day on the Reef! While conducting weekly Eye on the Reef surveys, marine biologists Dr Glen and Fern had some unexpected company as a pod of Spinner Dolphins cruised on by at Quicksilver’s Agincourt Reef pontoon! You never know what wonders you’ll encounter out here. Spinner dolphins are the most common species encountered on the Reef and are named after the aerial tricks they perform when leaping out of the water. These small dolphins will even ride the pressure wave off the bow of slow moving vessels.

This genoa, made in 1980, has sailed for 46 years! A testament to well-built gear that's kept out of the sun. Sailboat equipment lasts longer than you think. #Sailboat #SailingLife #VintageGear #Yachting #SailLoft

When you buy a new boat it is definitely worth checking your fuel tanks, drain them and make sure all is OK.

The Maunsell naval forts were built in the Thames estuary and operated by the Royal Navy, to deter and report German air raids following the Thames as a landmark, and prevent attempts to lay mines by aircraft in this important shipping channel. #maunsell #forts #thames #estuary #antiaircraft #sailing #shorts
