Toni and I had the opportunity to check out the first Seawind 1370 in the United States. We did not think twice and headed up to Sail Away Catamarans to enjoy a demonstration sail on Damsel Fly. The 1370 is only 4 feet longer than the 1260, but it is a very different boat. There were things we liked and things we did not, so like every other boat known to mankind, it comes down to compromises. Like all Seawinds, she sailed very nicely in the low winds.

The importance of evidence-based data is only increasing in the world today. With this in mind, Irish Sailing has committed to the capture and analysis of data from our activities to gain insights which will help to track trends and inform decision making going forwards.

I notice that the Seychelles always feels a bit unreal… Like nature is showing off. Car-free islands where people move on bicycles. Turtles almost 400 kg walking right next to you. Forests that look the same as they did 1,000 years ago. And water so clear you can see your shadow on the sand. When I’m there, I always think, “Is this my life or a movie?” And the best part is exploring all of this from a yacht, waking up with the sea under your feet and a new island every morning. **14–21 February 2026** One week in paradise.
