Toni and I had the opportunity to check out the first Seawind 1370 in the United States. We did not think twice and headed up to Sail Away Catamarans to enjoy a demonstration sail on Damsel Fly. The 1370 is only 4 feet longer than the 1260, but it is a very different boat. There were things we liked and things we did not, so like every other boat known to mankind, it comes down to compromises. Like all Seawinds, she sailed very nicely in the low winds.
Okay, this one is an option, but it’s great and we’re going to go with it on Mira. Advantages: Lighter Longer life-span Stronger and can actually bear the force of redirecting lines via a carabiner/shackle Allows way more water to flow through(safer) More resilient with individual Dyneema lashings instead of using one or two segments to attach Disadvantages: Added cost (approximately $5k as of this video) The rigging person will have phantom hand cramps appear when thinking of your boat
