Meet Carol and Sally! They recently picked up their new Scamp and are going to be sharing their experiences learning to sail her, and then exploring waters in the desert southwest (Lake Powell, AZ is a big one they want to camp cruise). “I thought it would be wise for my body to not only build up strength, but to stretch and use some postures and slow movements I usually associate with yoga or tai chi,” said Carol. “Doing this might prevent injuries no matter your age.” In this case, showing is better than telling, so here’s a short video demonstrating Carol’s strength and mobility-building routine in preparation for sailing her new Scamp! The summer time in San Francisco has crazy, sometimes gale force wind. This was the first day I've seen this of the 2024 summer season. It's a great training ground if you want to get beaten up out there in the strong wind and extreme sailing conditions. It's no fun if you just want to relax and lay in the sun 😫
