With our three sailing dogs back onboard, we set off on our longest passage yet: 40 hours across the Mediterranean, two nights at sea, fiery sunsets, star-filled skies, and the steady rhythm of open water carrying us towards a brand new continent. Halfway along the Tunisian coast, we tried to drop anchor for a short rest — only to be told by the coastguard that anchoring wasn’t allowed. Tired but determined, we pushed on through a second night passage before finally reaching Monastir Marina. At last, Kaia is safely tied up in her new winter berth in Tunisia, where we begin life as full-time liveaboards in North Africa. We're in the UK right now, back at Liz's mum's home of Rye in East Sussex. This ancient port town in steeped in nautical history and boats come right in to the town centre to moor up. We thought we'd do a little bit of recording down by the slipway, so with Liz leading the way we venture to the water's edge. Liz, however, doesn't clock where the slipway ends and the mud begins.
