EVERY SAILOR needs a BLACK POWDER winch mount CANNON! (Even if you don't "need" one ... there is no denying that they are BAD ASS! Well thanks to HARBORBURN Cannon Co. we were ablet to pick up our customized cannon at the Annapolis Boat Show! Here comes the BOOM! A signal cannon, also known as a salute cannon, is a small cannon, typically less than two feet in length, used for signaling and saluting rather than for military combat. These cannons were historically used on ships and on land to announce arrivals, warn of danger, or signal distress. They are also commonly used for celebratory events, such as starting sailboat races or marking significant milestones. HARBORBURN makes the only legit, useable, black-powder, muzzle-loading, fuse-lighting, loud-blasting signal cannon on the market. Hand-stamped and customized for your boat name, the ‘Herrington Mk. 1’ cannons are useable artwork and will last a lifetime. HARBORBURN started as a passion project between four sailors who wanted a real, black-powder signal cannon for their own boats, but nothing was available…so we made one! And now it’s available to boats and cannon-enthusiasts alike. We're Nick and Terysa and we’ve become completely obsessed with the idea of sailing around the world and sharing our experiences and information through our sailing lifestyle videos with others. We met travelling around India, and quickly agreed that rather than “settling down” and doing what most normal people do, we wanted to travel and have adventures! We moved onto our 38 foot monohull in 2014, sailed across the Atlantic twice, cruised the Caribbean, Bahamas and Europe, before buying a brand new 45 ft catamaran! We hope you enjoy what we do.
