Fast sailing in my 1987 Precision 16 sailing dinghy at Cherry Creek Reservoir near Denver, Colorado. The Precision 16 is a lightweight Stephen Seaton-designed un-ballasted centerboard sailing dinghy with a planing hull manufactured from 1982 until the mid 90s. It was superseded in 1995 by the smaller Jim Taylor-designed Precision 15 (P-15CB and P-15K). Happy 1st of December! 🌟 We’re kicking off our Christmas calendar with a tour of the salon, the heart of our boat, Vela. ❤️ This space is so much more than just a room: ➡️ On the port side, our cozy settee transforms into a dining room, office, or even a nap spot during passages. 🛋️💤 ➡️ On the starboard side, we have two lounge chairs with a hidden drinks locker in the middle—perfect for those sailing sundowners. 🍹 ➡️ The salon also holds tons of storage, but we’ll dive into that in a later episode! 🚪 It’s the first room you step into when you come aboard, and it’s where we live, work, eat, relax, and more.
