Feasting for climate protection: It might sound too good to be true, but it can actually work. In Germany, transportation accounts for almost as much carbon emission as the food industry. The question we now ask: Does “low in CO2” food taste as good? To find out, we equipped three brave (and hungry) colleagues with a bib and cutlery before sending them to our experimental kitchen where they were served sustainable dishes – or as we call it, Food from the Future. In our six-episode miniseries “Climate-friendly – but delicious?!” they tell us what tasted nice, and what they would actually cook at home. The LSG Group is the world’s leading provider of end-to-end onboard products and services for the travel industry. Its expert brands are: LSG Sky Chefs (airline catering and hospitality, lounges), Retail inMotion (onboard retail), SPIRIANT (onboard equipment) and Evertaste (convenience food).

The long anticipated premier of the first two MC31s to hit the water played out in today’s passage race between Melbourne and Geelong for the start of the Geelong Festival of Sails. With John Taylor’s Vindaloo and Rohan Veal’s 38 South Racing sailing their respective boats quite literally ‘straight out of the box’ – Rohan’s sails arrived in Melbourne this morning – both skippers were delighted with their first outing, and are looking forward to using their kites tomorrow, after an upwind race today.

Starting our Volvo Penta MD19 for the first time after our overhaul. We took the engine apart completely and renovated/changed the components. We did almost the entire work ourselves and wrote all about it on our blog. The aft cabin is one of the biggest spaces on Vela, but we still see so much potential to optimize! Here’s what we’re planning: 🛠️ Extra Storage: We’re building cabinets on each side of the bed and adding shelves inside the hanging lockers—because you can never have too much storage for clothes and gear on a boat. 💡 Desk Transformation: That “make-up table” (seriously, who uses it?) is getting a makeover! We’re turning it into a retractable desk with shelves above—perfect for working or planning our next adventures. 🌬️ Ventilating Cupboard Doors: On our nice-to-have list are ventilating doors for better airflow and to prevent condensation—practical and pretty. 💧 Watermaker Plans: We’re considering fitting the membranes for our watermaker under the bed, making good use of otherwise empty space. This cabin is already cozy, but we can’t wait to make it even more functional for life on board. What do you think of our plans? Any ideas we should consider? Drop them in the comments! 👇 🎵 Music by Sergio Prosvirini from Pixabay #YouTubeShorts #Explore #TravelVlog #Vloggers #DailyLife #ChristmasCalendar #Vlogmas #ChristmasOnBoard #Beneteau44cc #Sailing #Liveaboard #LifeAtSea #TinyLiving
