Will We Escape Hurricane Season?! (Calico Skies Sailing Ep.104)

With two tropical cyclones spinning up within a week it's time for us get moving out of the hurricane zone. The only problem is that we have put ourselves a bit into a corner here in Mexico. We need to fight our way a few hundred miles east against persistently strong easterly trade winds before we can turn south and onto heading for Panama. Just because we are waiting for weather doesn't mean we can't have fun! We decide to check out the underwater world taking our dinghy to a submerged sculpture park with eerie statues. Eventually we start to see a hole in the trades allowing us to escape Mexico and hurricane season. We move into passage prep mode, getting Calico Skies ready for sea. In addition to the usual prep work we also throw in one more curve ball, Grace had decided to sit this passage out and we are picking up crew. This decision wasn't made lightly but after a few rough passages this winter and the fact that we have to transit a know pirate coast we decide it'd be best for Grace to sit this one out and fly down to Panama to meet Calico.
