Walking in Petersburg, Alaska, felt a bit like being home in Sweden. There’s so much Nordic influence! Scandinavian boat names, Nordic flags and a viking ship! We plan well before setting off again because we are going through Wrangell Narrows, a narrow channel where two currents meet and we’re going through on a springtide! We are a Swedish couple who wanted a different kind of life. So we moved aboard our sailboat RAN, a custom built Beason 40 in aluminium, untied the lines in the middle of the Swedish winter, January 2016, and started sailing south along the coast of Europe. There is no set route and we will go where the wind and our minds take us.
