Volvo Penta MD2020 - how to dismount fresh water circulation pump

When I bought the boat there was a lot of cooling fluid laying under the engine in the sump. This time I dismount my coolant pump to find the leak once and for all, the pump is also a bit corroded so a good opportunity to fix the paint. On a lot of boats the coolant pump goes bad, the problem is mostly due to a bad adjusted V-belt there is resulting in bad ball bearings. The other problem is if the coolant fluid is to old and it has lost it's lubricating properties, then the rubber gland will get leaky. The right coolant is also important to protect the aluminium from the inside, this Volvo Penta uses the green fluid from Volvo and it must be changed every 2. year. 2019 update : The right way to drain the coolant fluid is by the screw in the left side of the engine, you can drain all the fluid into the sump and then suck it away afterwards.
