Vendee Globe skipper Sebastian Simon celebrates baptising his new boat, Groupe Dubrueil 2 #racing

‘We opted for a completely enclosed boat, contrary to some of the current trends, drawing heavily on aeronautics, its ergonomics, and the way pilots move around in their cockpits,’ says Simon. ‘Being able to work alongside my team, Guillaume Verdier’s team, the Carrington boats shipyard, the Dubreuil Aviation division, and everyone who has contributed to this project has been extremely enriching. 'I’m a curious person; I want to participate in everything, to understand, to exchange ideas, and to learn from the people around me. This whole adventure represents an incredible learning experience for me.’ After retiring from the 2020 Vendée Globe, Simon finished third in the 2024 edition despite the failure of one of his foils.
