Vendée Globe - Week 1 Review

Seeing 40 IMOCAs cross the start line on their 24,000 mile solo race around the world was a spectacle. To see all 40 emerge unscathed from the Bay of Biscay in November was a record for the race. But then, to see the fleet dealt everything from flat calm to 40knots and confused seas in just 3 days was a sharp reminder to all as to what this fleet is taking on. The Vendée Globe never gets any easier, but it does get quicker and more competitive. We take a look at how the first four days panned out across a fleet where there has already been a long list of leaders. Plus we take a look at how a solid state anemometer works and why it is proving to be so popular.
