Tiller arm and torque tabs - what needs to be carbon?
You may be surprised to hear that we think not everything needs to be made from carbon fibre. Oh yeah, it looks cool and it's super strong but do we really need to throw all those extra bucks at it so that we can say it's made in carbon? Not really. In this episode, we talk about the materials we used to make the rudder and tiller arm and discuss the concept of being "fit for purpose". Not every part of your boat needs to be made from that black shiny stuff we call carbon fibre. In fact, some pieces are better off when they are NOT carbon. And sometimes, we just don't have the budget to make everything out of the most expensive materials. Get a glimpse of our thought process and reasoning behind why we chose to go with the materials we did for our tiller arm and rudder in our latest installment.
