Team Aqua talk carbon-offset, giving up single-use bottles in 2012 and working with 2041
Since the launch of the class in 2007 Team Aqua has been carbon neutral by working with the World Land Trust to off-set the carbon footprint they create when traveling around Europe with the Tour. In 2010 Team Aqua proudly joined forces with 2041, a charity headed up by Arctic Explorer Robert Swan, whose mission is to raise awareness of the threat to the Arctic and the Antarctic as a result of global warming. And since 2012, they have been using a water filtration system, developed in-house, along with reusable water bottles. In this time, they estimate saving 18,000 single-use bottles. Owner Chris Bake and tactician Cameron Appleton explain why the project is important to the team.
