This unpredictable route demands skill, patience and flexibility as it combines intense weather patterns strong ocean currents, intense weather patterns and limited safe anchorages, making the passage perilous for even seasoned sailors. Despite calmer weather, our journey is anything but smooth. Engine troubles and a feisty marlin stealing all our fishing line add tension to an already nerve-wracking trip. With limited fuel after motoring for three days, we anxiously calculate how far we can sail before running out.
