Sunshine Race to St Malo

RORC Cowes – Dinard – St Malo Race Start: RYS Line Cowes | Friday 07 July 2023 The Royal Ocean Racing Club’s Cowes Dinard St Malo Race is one of the oldest races in the RORC Season’s Points Championship, the largest racing series in the world of offshore racing. 204 boats of all shapes and sizes entered this year’s 151nm race, the biggest entry for any offshore race since the 2021 Rolex Fastnet Race. Bright sunshine and scintillating downwind conditions had the impressive fleet setting spinnakers off the Royal Yacht Squadron Line. Highlights of a fantastic race were the Monohull Race Record broken by RORC member Christian Zugel racing Volvo 70 Tschüss 2, which was the overall winner decided by IRC time correction. Didier Gaudoux’s MN35 Lann Ael 3 was also crowned IRC Two-Handed European Champion.
