Steel Hull? Or Fibreglass?

@KimoBruddah-ki2oo questioned the wisdom of building a 100’ + yacht out of GRP, indicating that is was solely for the shipyard to make higher profits. Whilst it’s true that there are financial benefits to the yacht builder (and there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with that…they are in business just like most of us), there are benefits to the owner too in buying a 100’ GRP production yacht. In my view, the way that the yacht will be used is a bigger consideration than the size of the vessel when choosing materials for the hull.
