Sailboats
Southern California oil rig diving 8 miles off the coast of Long Beach, California. Three dives on three rigs: Eureka, Elley and Ellen. Clusters of plumose anemones, sponge covered scallops, feather duster worms, nudibranchs and brightly colored Corynactis. A divers delight. Not an easy dive. Open ocean swells provide crazy currents and the bottom is well past recreational dive limits. Due to the depth the boat is "live" not anchored, requiring swims to and from the dive boat.
