Snow Gum’s view forward - Garcia Exploration 45

Kenneth asked for some views forward from the cockpit, et voilà, the rain stopped for a few minutes. 🙂 As mentioned, I’m 172 cm on a good day, maybe 173 in my sailing boots. That’s 5’8”. Given the raised central section of the hard dodger and the way it impedes the view forward, Carolyn and I tend to move from side to side regularly, to maintain good situational awareness, especially in harbour. In the marina I tend to step up onto the seat for a few seconds every now and then, to improve the view forward. Of course that isn’t necessary if motoring backwards in the marina, a move that works well and makes the most of the bowthrusters.
