Sandflea is loving the sailing conditions in the Abacos. So far there's been good wind and very little swell. We've been ripping along at 5-6 knots in near pond-like conditions! Pretty awesome sailing. At Marsh Harbour we do a bit of reprovisioning at Maxwells. People call this place "the best grocery store in all of the Bahamas". It's a shock walking into an "American Style" grocery store after spending so much time in the smaller out-island settlements. Maxwells is HUGE. It almost feels like we're back in the States right up until we see the shocking grand total for our groceries. Wes and I load up the dinghy and head out to Mermaid Reef for some snorkeling. It's a decent dive site. Super shallow, lots of fish, and some impressive little reef structures. This would be a great spot to snorkel with the kids. Finally, I teach Wes how to blow bubble rings. It turns out that he's pretty much a master and he didn't even know it. On his very first attempt he blows a bubble ring that is essentially perfect in every way. Beginner's luck? You be the judge.
