SI #755 — Day 1 of the UniCredit Youth America's Cup in BCN, results and more
SAILING ILLUSTRATED #755 (Tue 17 Sep 2024) — Eleven years ago, in 2013, Peter Burling, Blair Tuke and Andy Maloney, (NZL all) won the first Youth America's Cup in San Francisco. Today they are key afterguard members of the Defenders of the Louis Vuitton 37th America’s Cup, Emirates Team New Zealand. They are prime examples of what the YAC can deliver. In Barcelona, twelve teams will vie for the UniCredit Youth America’s Cup. The winner will need to excel in the AC40s, and both at fleet racing and match racing. We'll report on the first day's racing (Tuesday), and preview the full event.
