We are a sailing family, pursuing an unconventional dream of converting an ex Vendée Globe Open 66 race boat into a fast family cruiser to continue our circumnavigation on. We are Timo and Jo, an Italian and English couple who have spent most of our lives on the sea, and for the last 2 years we've been joined by our 2 year old son Nemo and rescue puppy Solo, both born during our big refit of the boat in Fiji. NV was originally designed & built & raced by famous Hungarian sailor Nándor Fa. He competed in her in the 1992 Vendée Globe (round the world single handed race known as "the Everest of the seas"), finishing 5th, becoming the first non-frenchman to finish. We've recently finished a big refit in Fiji giving this old gladiator a new lease on life, transforming her from an ex race boat to a performance family cruiser. We launched in Sept 2022 and finally set sail from Fiji in April 2023. With limited time&money we have plenty of challenges ahead to turn our dreams into reality and sail back to our home in the Mediterranean.
