Saying Goodbye For Now, Starting Our New Sailing Adventures [Ep.1]

Well, here it is....our first video, Ep. 1 as we are ready to leave California, our friends, family, school, the community and town we love so much and head to Florida to await the arrival of our sailing catamaran and the start of a sailing experience of a lifetime! 3 years ago we sat down as a family and shared a dream that we all wanted to see come true. A dream that we take a window of time in our lives to do something truly special together, an extended sailing trip, an adventure that would stay with us till the end of our time. To laugh, and explore, to learn and grow as individuals and as family. To strengthen our bond respect and appreciation for one another. We went to lots of boat shows, looked at and sailed many different brands and types of boats in search of the one that we would call our new floating home, one that would safely and comfortably take us across oceans to new destinations filled with new languages, foods, cultures, religions, traditions. We pinned our dream on a board (we named it our Dream Board) that we would all see everyday as we came or left our home. We put a timeline, dates, thresholds we needed to meet in order to make the dream a reality. For us, identifying the boat, a Leopard 45 sailing catamaran, built solid, sleek, comfortable,…..truly a beautifully designed boat is what made it all feel “real”, as if we had just put a flag in the ground, focusing all our energy and passion towards our ultimate goal. A reminder that life is short, that seasons, weeks, months and years would pass and that it was up to us to make our dream a reality. And with that…….here we are, packed up and ready to go! We’ll able to look back on our "Dream Board" and honestly say “we did it”! There are lots of unknowns and new experiences ahead. Come join us as we begin this adventure into the big blue beautiful (try saying that 10 times) oceans of the world!! Maki put her heart into editing this video and is studying everyday (taking on-line courses) but hang in there.....they're just going to get better!
