Join us for a rare glimpse into how Easter is celebrated on the tranquil island of Lipsi, Greece - a Dodecanese gem where time seems to slow. In this episode, we sail into the harbor just in time for the Holy Week festivities. The entire village gathers for deeply rooted Orthodox traditions, candlelit processions, and joyful communal meals. We explore how the island's religious and cultural rhythms converge in an unforgettable Easter celebration. From local bakeries preparing traditional koulourakia to the midnight Resurrection Mass, Lipsi offers a moving and magical experience. We also capture quiet moments on the dock, where boats gently sway as bells ring out over the Aegean. If you're dreaming of Greek island travel that offers authenticity beyond tourism, this is it. Whether you're a sailor, culture seeker, or armchair traveler, Lipsi's Easter will touch your heart. Please like, comment, subscribe and click the bell icon for notifications to keep in touch! So appreciated! Our experience was made all the more special by celebrating it with our friends who own Dilaila Taverna in Lipsi. We met the most beautiful people last year who own this lovely Taverna. They are not yet open, but prepared an Easter dinner for just a "few" of their 40 closest friends and relatives, including us! You will see great drone footage, traditional meat roasting on a spit outside, phenomenal food and great warmth in this beautiful Easter celebration. 00:00 Arrival in Lipsi 00:42 Preparing for Easter 01:25 Easter Eve Religious Celebration 03:15 Good Friday Procession 04:05 Easter Day Celebration with our Greek friends 05:40 Reflections and Farewell
