Sailing from Scotland to the Algarve on a 40ft sailboat! - THE INCOMPETENT CREW- Nazare to Sagres

2,736 Ansichten· 13/10/24

This week we sail past the largest breaking waves in the world at Nazare! We save you from the most boring bits and give you only our best as we sail our way down the Atlantic Portuguese coastline, stopping at Cascais (Lisbon), Sines, and finally Sagres, where this weeks sailing vlog will end! You'll watch as we sail through thick fog and cruise past whales and dolphins and sharks (oh my!). In the past we've mainly focused on the adventures that we find as we've arrived at new ports on the Spanish and Portuguese coastlines, but this week you'll really get a feel for what it's like to spend multiple days on the ocean. Getting into anchorages late at night and leaving first thing in the morning. You can get an idea of how we entertain ourselves and each other, what sort of wildlife we drift by on a daily basis, the sort of meals we eat while we're on passage, and how we operate when we spend night after night in a rolly anchorage, subsisting off of poor sleep. This won't be our first time rounding Cabo de Sao Vicente, the most southwesterly point of Europe, but it's just as exciting (if not more) than the first time we made the journey. We had ZERO experience with sailing or boats when we bought our 41ft sailboat (but that's a story for a different day), and when we set off from Scotland we were excited but inexperienced and exhausted. Sailing waters with no autopilot on a boat that was definitely undercrewed. This time around, we've got our footing (and autopilot) and are much happier to be navigating our way past these rocky foggy cliffs. If our videos keep popping up onto your feed, and you've been enjoying our adventures, we'd love for you to subscribe so that you can keep up with us and see what we get up to on this new bit of coastline! Anyways, thanks for reading, and thanks for watching! We hope we managed to convey at least a little bit of the fun (and not fun) that we were having, and you enjoy being here with us :) If you are enjoying the content and want to help us raise the quality, consider visiting our 'buy me a coffee'. https://buymeacoffee.com/theincompetentcrew
