Episode 25: Sailing, storms and Rolly Anchorages Rounding the Peloponnese Part 2 This episode Cass and Shelly continue their course around the Peloponnese. The next several days bring foul weather and some long days at sail. This is the reality of sailing, make plans based upon weather, watch the weather predictions change or be different from what was predicted, decide in the moment to change directions and head another 6 hours away to a different anchorage. We were disappointed to not see more of Kithera than at sea but that’s our life. We arrived late at night after sailing in wind, heavy rains, rolly seas and gusty passages around Cape Maleas. The lights of the castle were something to see as we came in under an almost full moon lite sky and set anchor in an unknown anchorage. We woke up to a beautiful morning in Monemvasia and found a very convenient fuel station. We went ashore to get 3 tanks of diesel, 1 tank of gas and a few provisions in town before heading to our next anchorage in Poulithra. A beautiful quiet anchorage by a church.
