RSHYR 2018 - Views of the Crews

Before the boats left the dock for the start of the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race this morning Bow Caddy talked to some of the most experienced owners, skippers and crew to get their take on what the forecast held for them and who they thought might win the Tattersalls Trophy for overall handicap win. While there was much talk that this forecast might well favour the TP52s and the possibility of Matt Allen’s Ichi Ban taking a back-to-back win, one name cropped up regularly; Wild Oats X skippered by Stacey Jackson. Given their highly credentialed crew it would be hard to argue with that if they get the right weather breaks through Bass Strait and down the Tasmanian coast. And then of course there’s always Komatsu Azzurro skipper Shane Kearns’ entertaining take on the likely winner!
