We found it while researching online for non-perishable food items to take with us on our sailboat. We were actually very surprised at how good the Yoders canned bacon tasted, and it ended up being on of our favorite food items that we took with us. It is fully precooked and each can contains around 45-52 full length slices of bacon. It does not require to be refrigerated before opening and it's shelf life is good for 10+ years! ~Yoders Canned Beef Chunks: https://amzn.to/2LD3dFv Upon opening the can of beef chunks we were immediately grossed out by the smell and the look of the meat inside. We weren't sure if we even wanted to cook it, but instead throw it out.... We fried it up in a pan on the stove top and within minutes were salivating at the mouth with how delicious it smelled. We were both extremely surprised at how yummy the beef chunks tasted and looked after cooking! It was no different than eating a juicy roast that had been slow cooked in a crockpot all day long, perfect for a Sunday afternoon! This product is fully pre-cooked and does not require refrigeration before opening. It has a shelf life of over 10+ years. ~Canned Butter: https://amzn.to/2LSYtsj We definitely didn't want to deal with powdered or freeze-dried butter while on our sailing adventure and we knew that we would be cooking a lot during our 6 month trip, so when we found this canned butter online, we knew it was exactly what we were looking for! Red Feather Canned Butter is naturally made in New Zealand, with no preservatives, food colorings or chemicals of any kind! It is REALL BUTTER! This product was perfect for us, because it has a shelf life of at least 2 years or more, does not require refrigeration even after opening, and tastes amazing! ~Canned Cheese: https://amzn.to/2LApXWX Turtle does not have refrigeration, so keeping dairy items such as milk and cheese weren't going to be easy to do while on our sailing adventure. Bega Canned Cheese is packaged in Australia specifically for people who don't have refrigeration and is a product that lasts for a very long time! This cheddar cheese was perfect on cracks and helped make our meals that much better. _____________________________________________________ JOURNAL ENTRY 3/26/17 THE BAHAMAS Today we pulled up anchor and sailed from Warderick Wells Cay to Shroud Cay, in the Exumas of The Bahamas. We have been making our way back North to meet up with some of our friends. The sailing today was fantastic with strong winds! One of our most asked questions we have gotten about our epic sailing adventure is, "What did you eat?" People can't seem to grasp the idea of going on a 4-5 month trip and taking enough food to last them the entire time, and are shocked when we tell them we had no refrigeration! A lot of people don't understand that we had a year supply of food on our tiny boat and that we DID make yummy meals along the way....and maybe some not so great ones too. LOL Sure we stopped here and there to buy fresh vegetables every once in a while, but for the most part we took everything we needed with us. The shopping we did on the islands was so we could experience what it is like. It is completely different than shopping at our local grocery stores here in the U.S. For us to be able to show our viewers "what we ate" is important to us, so we try to share it in our videos when we are able to. It might even help those who are planning a sailing trip of their own to know what types of food to take with them. _____________________________________________________ MUSIC USED: "Never Give Up" by: Nicolai Heidlas "Indie Rock" by: Lucky Cat LINK: ~ https://www.hooksounds.com/royalty-free-music/never-give-up/333538/ ~ https://www.hooksounds.com/royalty-free-music/indie-rock/553332/ ******************************************************** Affiliate links have been added to this description to help our viewers find products shown in our videos. “As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.” Thank you. ********************************************************
