Performance Multihull Racing - Four Dazcats 2-handed Round Britain & Ireland 2018 Leg 1

Views from the inside: step onboard each of our four Dazcats racing in the Round Britain and Ireland 2018 and see what it's really like to race offshore on a Dazcat, four different kinds of Dazcat in fact...Join the owners and their crews on board Hissy Fit (D1495); Sueños (D1195); Bare Necessities (D1150) & Belladonna (D10). Before they set off Dazcat Media presented each boat a lovely new camera and a set of SD cards with stamped addressed envelopes to post off to me at each stop. To be honest this felt just a little cheeky. Apart from Simon on board Hissy Fit (who is a Dazcat director so it's different) they are our customers and officially have no connection with Dazcat other than owning one, so no obligations at all to do what I asked of them. I also know that when racing fitting in time for filming is a challenge and can only imagine that's even harder when sailing two-up, so I was acutely aware of the possible implications of my request which all agreed to remarkably easily and affably. Timing of the camera delivery meant I only had time to check them out very quickly and set up two, leaving Belladonna and Hissy Fit to set up their own. Along with the SD cards and envelopes each boat got a hasitily compliled list of semi-instructions...though I confess that having taken a look at the confusing array of camera-to-boat attachment options that had come with (that I had ordered!) I decided to leave how they managed that to the discretion of the individual boats and they seem to have managed extremely well... Considering all the above I was uncertain what to expect back and was so very delighted and impressed by the superb footage that duly arrived. What struck me most on first viewing is how much each boat is loved! How much enjoyment, beauty, interest, challenge and comraderie is found in the Dazcats and the situations you find yourselves in with them. I'm just delighted that these four owners are happy to spread the joy (and the miseries)! So, to all the Dazcat owners and crews, thanks so much for taking the time to take and return this stunning footage. I hope it uploads in time for you to watch it as a reminder of what good racing is, after the miseries of leg 2 and before setting off on leg 3....
