Our Sailing School Adventure - Part 2

Join us on Our Sailing School Adventure - Part 2! We attended Offshore Sailing School in St. Petersburg, FL at the beginning of February. The course was 1 week long and culminated in certifications in Basic Keelboats, Basic Cruising, and Bareboat Cruising. In this video: Day 3 - All hands on deck!! Onboard the 47 ft Jeanneau with our new crew-mates, Joe and Christian, and instructor Kelly, we’re getting ready to push off! Once out of the marina, we navigated through the narrow channel of the bay to our first anchorage at Pinellas Point. Day 4 - Heading out to the open water, we passed under the Sunshine Skyway Bridge with Kent at the helm. The days’ activities included tacking and jibing, heaving to, and learning how to anchor! Once we arrived at our destination, we got out the dingy! Anchored in the Manatee River for the night, we gathered ‘round in the cockpit for a sundowner and our nightly recap, and celebrated our first certification, Basic Keelboats!
