The value of light-airs training in the AC40 will perhaps only be realised at a later date and on a day where the NYYC American Magic designers would have been desperate for straight-line data, especially on the chromium-coloured starboard foil, it ended up being a day for the sailors to work through the transitions of displacement to flight and then working super-hard in maintaining that flight particularly post-manoeuvre.
