The launch of the third D1295 went so smoothly that handover was complete and the new owners out sailing on their own within just three days. This latest 1295 is launched as a family cruiser to owners who know their stuff, on monohulls. They’ve previously owned a series of single hulls but it was a ‘whole-family’ decision to move to a Dazcat and get all the benefits of being on the water. The racing pedigree of the 1295 means the family can choose to sail at speed and in comfort whenever they want to, extending their cruising range when time is precious and maintaining way when the wind is light. The lush interior is welcoming, cosy and eminently practical; ideal for both minimising maintenance and accommodating two teenage boys and their friends. As with all the Dazcats weight is kept low and central while the in-house carbon trims and components keep it to just 5.6 tonnes lightship, as well as adding a super-sexy look to the already stunning lines. Ease of handling is a design priority and the twin carbon wheels offer fingertip control with clear 360 views from the helm. All lines run back to the cockpit making it safe and easy to sail shorthanded.
