Motoring the ICW part 3 Ep. 23

Shortly after leaving Fort Lauderdale's Las Olas Marina and heading south on the ICW we had a shock of a lifetime when the propeller stopped and the engine quit abruptly without any warning! We soon found that we had ran over a LARGE piece of plastic while approaching a bridge. We didn't have any other further problems motoring the ICW and soon made it to Miami FL! We anchored in the Bay of Biscayne for 2 nights and then once the wind calmed down a bit we got a mooring ball at Dinner Key Marina. We were very impressed by how nice the facility was and the amazing service they have for their guests! We needed to find new filters for our water maker b/c the ones we had got dirty while we tried to clean them. We found what we needed at Shell Lumber located on the same stretch of road as the marina! We highly recommend going there for any of your boating needs! We made pudding that night which Randall accidentally burt. We didn't eat much of it, but it was still fun to make and laugh about. The next morning we left Dinner Key Marina and traveled through the Biscayne Channel and south to Elliott Key where we anchored in preparation for crossing the Gulf Stream early the next morning!
