Making a Gap at the Start #corkweek2024

The Redline Racing team on J109 Going to Red was mixing it with the big boys in the IRC Zero fleet for the final Coastal race of Cork Week 2024. With a bias to the boat end of the starting line there was a pack of boats all trying to get as close to the boat end of the line as possible. The J109 Going to Red managed to roll over the top of one of the Cape 31's before accelerating and grinding up to leebow a second of the Cape 31 fleet. It was a good start for team GTR, managing to get some clear air and good speed when the gun went, it could have been even better if they accelerated a little earlier which would have put then right on the line when the gun went.
