Low Footprint Sailing is better for us: Episode 1

6 selfish ways in which Low Footprint sailing is better for us. So often Low Footprint, Sustainable changes are presented as if we should be punishing ourselves to benefit others who we don't know. Here we look at 6 ways we can improve things for ourselves (albeit while also benefiting everyone else as well). The 6th is real but a bit twisted :-) We are refitting a 44 year old Rival 38 for a Sustainable Sailing retirement in a few years. Two years ago, when we bought Vida she was in a very tired and damp condition with all original equipment and fittings. We have removed all the gas, diesel and paraffin equipment, and are installing all electric (motor, cooking etc). Now that the inside is dry (thanks to new windows, new hatches and leak chasing) we are fitting her out for live-aboard world cruising.
