Landfall in Port Resolution, Vanuatu and Sailing to Efate! Ep203

We made landfall on the island of Tanna near the active volcano of Mount Yasur. The immigration, customs and biosecurity officials kindly travelled all the way across the island to check us in at Port Resolution because the harbour at Lenakel on the other side is not so sheltered for sailing yachts. From here , we could get a pick up truck to get local currency out in Lenakel and then we were able to take an expedition up to the crater of Mount Yasur volcano. The roads are in a terrible state, especially after the recent cyclones but the tour guides made it work and got us there. Looking around, we could see the destruction caused by the adverse weather conditions, any houses not built from concrete always to be re built after natural disasters.
