J109 Yacht almost speared by two Cape 31's #corkweek2024

There was not a lot of room on the start line with both the IRC 0 and IRC 1 starting together for the final offshore race of Cork Week 2024. The J109 Going to Red tacked on to starboard in a whole before spending the last 40 seconds fending off two Cape 31's who were hell bend on spearing her with there super long bowsprits. We boats racked up three or four deep both to windward and leeward it was a challenge to balance hight with speed to keep your lane. The skipper on Going to Red owned the start as they creep over the boats to leeward while squeezing out everyone on there hit.
