INSIDE A SAILMAKERS LOFT! Our DIY boom bag S1CH.34

We can’t believe they let us inside, we have been let loose inside a sailmakers loft in Airlie beach with the guidance of our good friend and marine trimmer Sue. It's no secret Nakama’s canvas work needs some serious love. A boom bag has been on our wish list for years and our poor old dodger is no longer hanging on by a thread but patched up with duct tape sporting more holes than fabric the dodgy dodger is more of a representation of a dodger than an actual dodger. After a cracking sail, we crack into the work on our first attempt at D.I.Y marine trimming at the local sailmaker's loft. We are so grateful to have been given the opportunity to work in this space and learn an abundance of knowledge about a whole other side of boating. To support our video production and our DIY repairs as we sail around Australia please check out our patron, any little bit helps as we twist and bend our shoestring from one adventure to the next https://www.patreon.com/sailingnakama FOLLOW US ON INTSAGRAM: Nakama https://www.instagram.com/sailingnakama/ Slim https://www.instagram.com/gingerslim1/ Soph https://www.instagram.com/_sophiesnijders/ AND FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/sailingnakama Chapters: 00:00 Intro 00:55 Cracker of a sail 04:42 Welcome to Airlie 06:29 Day 1 - This is a loft 08:22 A boom bag Slimsplained 11:02 Our boom bag foundation 12:35 Day 2 - Now this is a serious sewing machine... 16:30 Day 3 - Man down 17:37 To be continued
