How To Make Soparnik
Soparnik is a traditional Dalmatian dish which originated from Poljica in the hinterlands of Omiš. Served once as a humble meal in the village thanks to its basic ingredients made up of Swiss chard, onion, flour, garlic, olive oil, and salt, Soparnik is now enjoyed all over Dalmatia and even abroad. Whilst the recipe is simple, there is still a finesse needed in preparation and execution. Once prepared and cooked around freshly prepared coals, the Soparnik is sprinkled with fresh ash and embers which give the dough its unique charcoal peppering you find on the final result.
