Initially, we were going to completely avoid PNG due to all of the rumors and stories we had heard about Piracy and the threat it poses to sailors. Known for its gorgeous marine landscapes, vast biodiversity, and dark history of piracy, Papua New Guinea offers a tempting array of experiences for travelers but along with it comes a great deal of risk.
