In this episode of the Rogue Rigger we splash our Mini Transat "Rogue" and attempt to finish the 2024 Single Handed Sailing Societies Three Bridge Fiasco. 301 boats signed up for the race. The start line is on the city front of the San Francisco Bay in front of the Golden Gat yacht Club. It is a reverse handicap start, so the slower boats start first and fast boats start last. You have to then round all three of the "bridges." For the Golden Gate Bridge you actually round the Blackaller body which is just east of the bridge by fort point. For the Richmond San Rafael Bridge you have to round Red Rock which is a giant red colored rock just south of the bridge. For the Bay bridge you ave to round Treasure Island/Yerba Buena Island. So here is where the fiasco comes into play. You can start on either direction of the starting line and you can round all of the marks in either direction. This makes for some crazy starts and crazier rounding. Oh yeah and to add to the challenge all of the boats are either single handed (just one person on board) or double handed (two people on board). Good times for sure!
