Episode 15 - Why am I Droning On?

I received a DJI Mini 2 for Christmas for the purpose of taking video from a third person perspective. I want to take video of a boat at anchorage, or fly along the beach while we are walking, or sailing through the waves, or up-close video of other hard to reach places like the many lighthouses that dot the Chesapeake Bay. I have RC plane and helicopter experience from my youth, but the DJI Mini 2 is supposed to be fool proof so I should have no problems. Join us as we challenge this concept and take the drone out for the very first time, and not without its challenges. I will close with some comments of my issues and thoughts. I did read the manual before going out. This is just another step in our journey to document our second life, retirement. Update I have flown the DJI Mini 2 many more times since this episode was uploaded. I shelved the iPhone 6 in favor of a used/abused iPhone 11 to eliminate the CPU issue, successfully tested the Return to Home (RTH) function, and pushed it to its range limit, no issues to date. I can't wait to fly it from a boat.
