Ep82 | Dangerous seas for sailors - the notorious Cape Lookout | Linnea Sailing

The US capes are known to sailors for being vicious and unforgiving if trying to round them in the wrong weather. After riding out a storm, fairly well protected on the inside of Cape Lookout, we set out to explore this notorious cape. They call this the Bahamas of the US, but we think it has more resemblance to home than to Bahamas. It even smells like home! Isn't it hard to imagine, on a day as calm as this, that this can be one of the world's most dangerous waters? Which have cost hundreds of sea farers their lives over the years? Emmy & Marcus ______ We are Emmy and Marcus, a Swedish couple who has decided to leave our home and set sail out into the world with our boat Linnea. After a season in the Caribbean, we decided to leave Linnea in Trinidad and fly back to Sweden for the hurricane season. This allowed us to get an extra year of sailing and reach even more beautiful destinations for our second season of cruising. For now the goal is Greenland and back home to Sweden, via the Caribbean, BVIs, Bahamas, US east coast, and Canada. But who really knows how far our dreams might take us?
