EP11 - Sailing Greifswald to Stockholm - part 1

We leave Greifswald on Aurora’s maiden voyage. We are in a bit of a hurry to catch the lifting bridge to get out to sea, all starts of well as we head out to Christiansø and across the shipping lanes and the overnight sail is pretty eventful as we sail through thunderstorms. In Christiansø we try to get the sail out as I sensed there was something wrong when I furled the mainsail in the night before. Sure enough there was, the learning curve is steep as we haven’t used an in mast furling sail before. So this episode isn’t all fun and games unfortunately but we learn so much about the in-mast furling and the problems that you can have. In the future I will try to do a proper tutorial on what we learned with the Selden mast and the Elfstrom in-mast furling sail.
