Ep 9 - Making the Keel

In this episode we go over the construction of the plank keel for our Newfoundland Trap Skiff build. We discuss flattening the slab using a homemade flattening jig, lofting and cutting the keel to shape, patching knots and nailholes with dutchmen, planing, transferring the bevel details, shaping the keel's bevel, and sealing with red lead primer.
